Maybe they also are working to implement better object scaling also, to reduce workload on lower end computers. With the multicore abilities, I think that will be less of a factor and that is possibly why we see little need for massive hardware updates for customers. Xplane is single core, which means clock speed would be king? So CPU is more beneficial and its often been said that minor overclocks help. I am not familiar with Vulkans capabilities with this, but we do know that even with Vulkan, XP11 never could do this during simulation. What isn't (yet ?) in those specs is - whatever GPU you use - you need to have Vulkan 1.2 drivers for it (or Metal support on OSX). It doesn't mean "makes any given user happy". Its really just to boil down the performance level to something easier to grasp for less CPU savy users. The CPU minimum requirements are actually not really hard things, like some required instruction set or other CPU features. Once you try to run your Steam install with a dozen plugins and add ons at "Max" settings, you will no longer be confused, but rather, the sad face! 12 high performance will mandate using Intel's ver. Apparently, LR was indeed serious in their stated goal of melting your computer. They will be the same people complaining about FPS in v12 too, as will others, even pros without more modern, fully optimized rigs/installations (unless locked datarefs are unlocked and/or v10-like options return for fine fluff control). This tells you that all the additional eye candy the gamers have been clamoring for comes at a cost (duh). Looks like CPU limited users will still be in the majority as well (and those short on VRAM). They were always a complete joke, now even more so. The rest of the recommended specs are basically the same.
